ST PATRICK'S DAY

Publié par MISS UK

I didn't really know what was "St Patrick's day"

so, I am gonna to present it to you!

St Patrick's day is a cultural and religious holiday, it's celebrated annually on march, 17, for the holy parton of Ireland, St Patrick ( in french: Patrice )

The symbol of this day and the Ireland is the four leaf clover, why ? because , there is long time ago, the evangelizer of the country ( St Patrick ) explained to the nation the concept of the holy trinity in a sermon at the Rock of Cashel with a clover. this is why this is the symbol of the country.

This christian "party" is already celebrated by the Irish in the 9th and 10th century.

Day March 17 is finally enrolled in Catholic liturgical calendar in the early 1600s, thanks to the influence of Luke Wadding.

BE CARREFUL!!! this is not the national day! it can be compared to the St David 's day , in Wales; to St Andrew's day, in Scotland or to the St Yves' day, in Brittany, in France.

in 1903, the St Patrick's day become the official bank holiday in Irealnd.

so now you know everything about St Patrick's day!!!

and....

HAPPY BANK HOLIDAY!!!!!!!

bye,
